Industry Organizations
IRIA remains active as the co-founders of the International Technical Rescue Symposium (ITRS) and the Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT). We also participate in technical and safety standards committees and organizations such as the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), American Section of the International Association for Testing Materials (ASTM), the California State Fire Training Committee, the Mountain Rescue Association (MRA), and the National Association for Search and Rescue (NASAR).
The Airborne Public Safety Association (APSA)
APSA is a 501(c)(6) non-profit educational, individual membership organization, founded in 1968 to support and encourage the use of aircraft in public safety. Their mission statement is to support, promote and advance the safe and effective utilization of aircraft by governmental agencies in support of public safety missions through training, networking, advocacy and educational programs.

INTERNATIONAL COMMISSION FOR ALPINE RESCUE
ICAR Is the international platform for the exchange of mountain rescue knowledge. Each year rescuers from different disciplines, medical personnel and rescue equipment manufacturers come together to review the latest advancements, methods and techniques. CMC is a sponsor of ICAR.
ISO is the world’s largest developer and publisher of International Standards. ISO standards are developed by technical committees comprising experts from the industrial, technical and business sectors. These experts may be joined by representatives of government agencies, testing laboratories, consumer associations, non-governmental organizations and academic circles. CMC is ISO 9001 certified.
International Technical Rescue Symposium
ITRS is the leading forum for up-to-date, state-of-the-art, technical rescue information. Rescuers representing mountain, cave, fire, industrial, and swift water gather to discuss ways to improve safety and performance, and ask and answer pertinent questions. ITRS is presented and co-sponsored by CMC.
Mountain Rescue Association
The Mountain Rescue Association (MRA) was established in 1959 at Timberline Lodge at Mount Hood, OR making it the oldest Search and Rescue association in the United States. The MRA is an organization of teams dedicated to saving lives through rescue and mountain safety education. They do so by improving the quality, availability, and safety of mountain search and rescue. With over 90 government authorized units, the MRA has grown to become the critical mountain search and rescue resource in the United States.

NASAR is a not-for-profit membership association dedicated to advancing professional, literary, and scientific knowledge in fields related to search and rescue. Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians
The Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT) represents a variety of occupations that use rope to access a work location. Since 1997, SPRAT has been working to develop consensus-based safety and certification standards. The organization allows anyone working on rope to have a voice in issues that affect their occupations. SPRAT certification lets employers verify professional competence and experience. CMC is a founding member of SPRAT.
